Happy New Year!
I decided to start the year off with sleeve drama! My first project is a simple yet elegant knit top which elevates basic tops to a new level.
I used the Adrienne Blouse pattern by Friday Pattern Company. I had zero issues with this pattern and I think it is perfect for all levels of sewers. For my first version, I did not make any modifications or hack the pattern in any way.
A few things I like about it are:
- Quick and easy sew – This makes it an awesome pick-me-up especially after a more challenging project. It also makes it a great closet filler for when you need more basics.
- 12 paged PDF – Yes, this PDF pattern is only 12 pages!
- For knits – I can’t believe I used to fear sewing with knits. This pattern requires knit fabrics which are usually more forgiving than wovens in terms of fit.
- Versatility – Depending on the weight of knit used, you get a slightly different look and structure. The top can also be worn off the shoulder or as shown I have worn it in my photos and can be styled in endless ways.
Cheers,
Sylvia

Thank you! The sleeves can be intimidating but you can always modify it too! I just made another version with a lightweight knit and slightly shorter sleeves. It’s on my Instagram page and I’ll be sharing it here in my January roundup

This is absolutely gorgeous! The best version of the Adrienne I have seen so far, and I think I might need to buy the pattern for myself now!

Your top is gorgeous! I love the drama of the sleeves, is the fabric a ponte?

Thank you! Yes, it feels like a Ponte but I’m not 100% sure because I’ve had it in my stash for over a year.
